What Causes Fever And Vomiting After TAH And BSO Procedures?
Hello, I had a TAH BSO, they took all my reproductive organs. My surgery was April 30th, less then a week ago. My questions are 1) my right side, at times, makes me gasp in pain. Is that normal? 2) I have little or no appetite since I got discharged last Friday but I am making sure to drink 64 ounces of water a day which I don t have a problem with and the last question 3) My discharge instructions state to call with fever over 101.0° which I have never had but I have gone up to 100.9° and then back down to 98.7° 4) Today I started getting really queasy and vomited 2times. I spoke to my doctor s office and they didn t seem too concerned about the above mentioned. Am I just being a nervous Nelly?? My follow up appointment is May 13th. Thank you
You may go with these tests, stool exam, CBC, TLC, DLC, USG, typhoid and malaria, if you are in the endemic areas! If you do these tests, this will rule out several conditions.

Fever after TAH BSO is not a good sign. Post-operative fever occurs in up to 90% of people who have surgery. A few reasons could be suture wound infection, urinary tract infection, atelectasis, pneumonia, deep venous thrombosis, gastrointestinal tract infections by various bacteria and viruses or abscess elsewhere in the body.
That requires a thorough clinical examination and few investigations like complete blood picture, complete urine examination, C- reactive protein, liver and kidney function tests. Please do consult your gynecologist as soon as possible for a proper diagnosis and appropriate treatment.
