What Causes Fever, Chills And Body Aches?

My husband came home from work midday Wednesday with fever chills and body aches. Went to bed. Woke up feeling pretty good and went to work. Was home again by midday. Same situation Thursday. This morning he felt pretty good again and came home at 1 shaking so badly I had to help him to bed. He has 102.6 fever and slight diarrhea.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Very likely your husband is having a viral infection that is causing the chills, fever, body aches and diarrhea. Generally, it gets better in 3-5 days and all that is needed is that he makes sure he keeps himself well hydrated by taking oral rehydration solutions and also resting well to help his body recover quickly. For the fever, he can use ibuprofen. It will also help with body pains as well.
If no improvement in 3-4 days or if there is any worsening he will need to see his doctor.

I hope this answers your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
