What Causes Fever, Chronic Cough And Spider Veins On The Back Of A Child?

Child 8yrs, been unwell for last 2 wks. Temp, plus very bad cough. Visited doctor twice, they said twice viral. Noticed tonight, day 14, blue like spider web veins all over back of legs??? Why would this be, should I be so concerned? Cough still going but not as horrific, temp still slightly up, a constant 37.7

Thanks for your query.
Noted the history about 8 year old child, unwell 2 weeks - has temperature and bad cough - Doctor say viral - blue like spider web veins all over back of legs - wants to know the reasons.
The causes of such an appearance can be:
Deranged liver functions is a major cause.
Local insect bites
I would advise you the following:
To say this to be viral being continued for 2 weeks we should have negative blood and other reports:
I would advise you the following tests.
Blood- CBC, culture and sensitivity, Widal for typhoid, malaria, Liver and kidney functions.
Urine routine , microscopy, culture and sensitivity.
Ultrasonography of the abdomen.
X-ray of the chest.
Other tests as may be needed after clinical evaluation and second opinion of another Pediatrician.
