Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a significant fever that goes away with rest and liquids and Returns with fatigue. I also have a higher than normal heart rate (10bpm above normal resting rate), big response to exertion. What do you think? 60 year old male, active work style, no medications.
Fever is a sign of infection in your body. A good physical examination is recommended to determine the site of infection. Treating infection adequately will make fever disappear.
Resting, lots of fluids are great helpers in reducing the fever. However, unfortunately, they can't fight it.
Increased heart beat is a physiological response to fever and infection you are facing.
So, I highly recommend to consult with your physician, get a good physical examination to determine the site of infection and get treated adequately. Prescription meds might be required.
Wish fast recovery.
