What Causes Fever Followed By Sweats And Chest Pain?

I have had, for about three weeks now, nightly fever of around 100, then around 2 am to 4 am, I wake up sweating. I also have some chest and shoulder pain, which is not as severe as it was 3 weeks ago. I went to the ER and they did a nuclear threadmill tests; said I had no heart blockages. I went to a lung specialist last week, who said my lungs appear fine, but ordered a cat scan in case, which I have not received results for yet.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Chest pain, fever and shoulder pain lead suspicious towards cardiac or respiratory cause mainly. As EKG is normal, cardiac cause seems less likely. Let's wait for CT scan report and see what comes in that. Anxiety can lead the panic attack with sweating and pain, So anxiety history should be ruled out. Investigate with CBC, peripheral smear examination, SGPT, SGOT, CRP like basic study for primary work up.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Parth Goswami
