What Causes Fever ,throat Pain And Ear Pain?
Hello Doctors,
It started seven days ago with my throat starting to hurt. I got a fever between 102-104F and ear pain on the same side that i had throat pain. I was taking amoxicillian but the strep test was negative. Now, I am still sick with the lymph nodes in my neck swollen, tonsils on both sides have white spots/patches, thick saliva (mucous consistency), chest pain and my tongue feels pricky or tingly in some spots like i ate a slice of pineapple. I think i saw a white bump near the tip of my tongue a few days ago. I have no ear infection. Any mucous from nose and throat is otherwise clear. Currently taking ibuprofene and not on antibiotics.

seven days of fever with throat pain and ear pain and culture test for streptococus is negative seems to be viral borne upper respiratory infection.
as because of infection in throat and tonsils lymph node around neck in obvious because of immune response.
viral borne throat infection and associated symptoms will take 5 to 10 days to settle depends upon the severity and immune response of the individual.
as you have taken antibiotic earlier and withdrawn, it is appreciated. symptomatic treatment advised.
