What Causes Fever, Vomiting And Fatigue In A Child?
Should I take my son in to the doctor? Yesterday, he started with a fever and vomitted 3 times. Took several short naps, would not eat and drank very little. Today he has eaten and drank some but is still very lethargic, still has a fever (at last check was 1018) and now has a rash over most of his body.
Understanding your concern. As per your query your child have symptoms of fever, vomiting and fatigue. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like food poisoning, electrolyte imbalance and due to acute gastritis. Need not to worry. Avoid eating spicy and heavy food , reduce intake of dairy products. I would suggest you to do warm saline gargles several times a day , keep your head elevated while sleeping . Consult pediatrician for proper examination . Doctor may order test like swab test, blood test and will do physical examination. Doctor may prescribe antibacterial or antiviral depending upon the diagnosis along with anti-emetic medications.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
