What Causes Fever, Vomiting And Itchy Rashes Under The Arms And Genitals?

Hi. My 10 yr old son on thanksgiving night/ Friday all day was throwing up for 24 hrs, no fever. 2 days later he had a fever for 24 hrs and he just woke up with a hot itchy rash under his arms and on his genitals. Is this just a virus or something worse?

Hi,

It can be due to viral fever. Better to run blood routine examination, platelet count and tests for syphilis ( VDRL) and HIV to rule out those to be on safe side. I would suggest antibiotics like doxycycline or Azithromycin also. Consult your local physician or pediatrician for this.
