Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Ive had three days of fever with body aches and chills. The fever comes down with Motrin. I have had large white patches on my left tonsil since Sunday with a swollen tonsil and difficulty swallowing. I also have felt very bloated and noticed nearly a 5 pound weight gain since symptoms started despite barely eating. I had a negative strep at the minute clinic and was given oral lidocaine. Any suggestions at to what this could be?
As per your query you have symptoms of fever with body ache and chills which could be due to infection either by a viral or bacterial microorganism. It could be due to compromised immunity of the body as well.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you take a combination of anti-inflammatory medication Cetirizine along with Ibuprofen. Drink plenty of liquids. Avoid intake of outside food. You should take Azithromycin as well as it could be the case of co-infection. Visit General physician once and get it examined. Get blood tests done if symptoms keep on persisting. Do tepid sponging as well.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
