What Causes Fever, dizziness And Vomiting In Children?
My daughter is 13. She came home from school this past Thursday and slept for 4 hours. yesterday, Friday, she was running a fever 102.2. She seemed to be doing better last night.5am this morning, Saturday, she was feeling extremely dizzy and threw up. Ever since she threw up the first time she is complaining of being really dizzy and has thown up two more times. She is sleeping alot and has not gotten out of bed since 5 am this morning. Should I be worried its more than a virus?
It could be a bad virus, but it also could be an ear or sinus infection that she would need antibiotics for. Viruses can also cause an inner ear inflammation that would be associated with dizziness and vomiting. In that case all you can do is treat the symptoms and wait for the virus to clear up. But you also want to be sure it's not a bacterial infection like sinusitis, so best to have a doctor take a look to be sure. Hope this helps.
