What Causes Fever,sore Throat And Sinus Infection After Having Unsafe Sex?
Hi Dr, about 4 weeks ago I was the insertive partner in unprotected anal sex with a transgender. I normally dont engage in such risky behavior and i am severely regretting it. Right now I am experiencing a fever for the last three days, a sore throat, restlessness, and some sinus issues.I am extremely worried. I took an oraquick oral swab test and it was negative. I also went to urgent care and had blood drawn I am waiting on the results tomorrow. Does this sound like ARS? i am having a meltdown

As per my clinical experience, the fever, sore throat and sinus infection may pause a mere upper respiratory tract illness via viral bug or even a prodrome of HIV manifestation in window period. As the duration of 4 weeks is passed, a rapid antibody testing for HIV 1 and 2 via 4th generation immunoassay will give best results.
