What Causes Fizzing Sound In Neck?

I hear a fizzing sound in my neck that runs up to the base of my scull. This happens everyday. It is not painful, its just annoying and it worries me. i tried looking it up online but have found tons of people who have the same thing but no answers. One post I found says it's early signs of ALS. is this true?
