What Causes Flaky Patch Along With Itching And Burning Sensation In Vagina?

Hi, I am an 18 year old women, I have been sexually active for a year now. I frequently shave my pubic hairs about once a week but now I am getting white flaky patches around the razor bumps. And recently, I have seen very large and disturbing patches of white flaky skin and cuts on my vagina. What could this be? My vulva and vagina opening have been itching and burning extremely as if I have a yeast infection and there is some mild pain behind that.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that the flaky patches, cuts and burning sensation in vulva and vaginal opening seems to be due to vaginal yeast infection also known as Vaginal Thrush..
I would suggest you to consult a Gynaecologist and get evaluated and she can do a clinical examination of the vagina as well as can take a vaginal swab to do a microscopic examination for confirmation of cause..
In case if Yeast infection is diagnosed as the cause you can be advised to apply Vaginal antifungal ointments like Clotrimazole..
Vaginal antifungal pessaries can also be advised to you that can be inserted in the vagina and will gradually dissolve and relieve the infection..
Oral Intake of antifungal medication like Fluconazole can be advised once a week for consecutive 3 weeks..
Maintain a good hygiene,,
Wear loose fitting clothes and cotton undergarments..
Take more of yoghurt and garlic in diet as it is a probiotic and help in faster resolution of infection..
