Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 64 year old husband has flaky skin near the eyes/eyelids, red eyes and cracking on the corners of the mouth. This started while on a trip to Hawaii last February. His eyes are often itchy and red. Any ideas? He went to Urgent Care once and was given drops for pink eye. We really don t think that s it.
Actually, there are many questions to ask. I am suspecting few diseases like psoriasis. But I can't tell like this. I have to ask many questions as it can be diagnosed mainly by clinical inspection. There are many tests, although.
The test you should do: A complete blood count (full blood count) may be indicated, including assessment of the levels of iron, ferritin, vitamin B12 (and possibly other B vitamins), and folate. Bring this result, next we can discuss what to do. Drink plenty of water.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Dipan Samanta,
General & Family Physician
