Hi
Thanks for posting on HCM
Sorry to hear what you have been going through.
Left flanc pain could be caused by a number of medical conditions. Some of these causes may include:
-Non-renal causes like: Musculoskeletal strain, Neuropathic pain, chronic Digestive disorders like IBD and masses, Refered pain from thoraxic pathologies.
-Renal causes like recurrent infection, inflammation, recurrent kidney stones, renal mass or tumour of other elements of the urinary tree.
I will however recommend you meet your Urologist for evaluation.I will advise:
-Pain medications like ibuprofen during acute attacks
-Drink enough water
Your Doctor may evaluate you for both renal and non-renal causes depending on diagnostic orientation.
Hope my answer will help you
Wish you well
