What Causes Flank Pain On The Left Side?

For a few months now, I have had a dull ache in my left flank area, which I have ignored. Now, the pain is very sharp. It is not accompanied by a fever nor vomiting, so I am wondering if it is a kidney stone or something else. My urine output is comparable to my liquid intake. I was just diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes and am taking meteor in.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi thank you for querry,
As you mentioned you have dull aching pain on left flank which become worse with no any associated symptoms.
yeah its possibility of Renal stone,
If such patient came to me i will first suggest urine complete along with Ultrasound KUB to rule out any stone, hydronephrosis or underlying pathology.
RBS either increase level also cause glycosurea which may increase incidence of Urinary tract onfection.
citosoda sarchet along with Drotaverine may be helpful NSAIDS also decrease the pain.
Hope the answer will help you in mantaining your health.
Wish you a good health.
I find this answer helpful
