What Causes Flank Pain When Diagnosed With A Mass On The Adrenal Gland?
I m 54 years old with a history of tumors.. I had complete hysterectomy at age 20 due to a mass the size of a cantaloupe and it was benign. I had a left adrenalectomy due to a mass at age 36 due to a mass larger than 5 cm. I was diagnosed with a mass on right adrenal gland in 2001 at 5 cm but told if it s removed I will be on 100 percent synthetic hormones. I am currently experiencing pain and swelling in my right flank. Thoughts or advice?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
If the lesion is severe in condition and causes the clinical symptoms then it has to be removed, again if this is the life threatening again then it needs to be remove least concern if the post surgical condition needed some synthetic hormone medicine or any medicine but against of that you are saving your life, you can discuss about this for any other option instead of surgery or you can go for the second opinion.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
