What Causes Flash Of Light After Procedure To Drain Blood From Stomach?

I went to the emergency room and had a tube put down my nose. They wanted to drain my stomach of blood. During the procedure I saw Sparks of White Light. Is this cause by a Neurological Problem, Blood Pressure Changes, or something else? I know when my neuritis acts up I see these but this never happened during a medical procedure.
