What Causes Flashes Of Colours In The Vision?
My 12-year old son just told us that he s been seeing flashes of color, usually purple and red, since the first or second grade. It usually lasts for a second or two with no symptoms of dizziness or disorientation. We re taking him to see our primary doctor this week, but wanted to know if this is associated with something serious.

Very likely because he has had these for years now and no changes have happened in his vision, this may be something minor and not important. On the other hand, a good check of his vision and of the back of his eyes is recommended just to rule important eye conditions (retinal detachment or others).
