What Causes Flashes Of Light And Impaired Vision In The Right Eye?

I have had weird symptoms lately sometimes it hurts my head when i burp and i see flashes of light and am losing cision a little in my right eye. It always hurts right above my neck under the back of my head and is always sensitive to the touch. I dont know if there is something neurological going on but sometimes it worries me i had to go to the hospital because my head hirt so bad one time. It comes and goes i also have a couple abcess teeth i have always wondered if maybe a tooth infection could cause brain issues. My right side always hurts sometimes it feels like my arm is out of socket but its not and all the nerves back there always hurt in my gead and makes me see spots

Hi,

First of all, infection alone cannot cause these symptoms. But if you are a woman and you take oral contraceptive pills or hormonal replacement therapy, you should know that the hormones can increase the tendency for thrombosis, so you should ask a gynecologist for help.

Second, hypertension and the high blood lipid can provide a suitable environment for vascular lesion of the brain and eyes, such as: venous thrombosis and TIA. You should do some investigations to rule out hypertension and high lipid, then you should take medical treatment, besides changing your lifestyle, for example, you should decrease salt and fat-rich diet intake and you should stop smoking and drinking. You should take aspirin 160 mg twice per day after meals.

Immediately, besides vitamin B complex once per day after meal and Benfotiamine 40 mg after meals. If the investigations were normal, you could see an ophthalmologist for help.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
