What Causes Flashes Of Light Seen In Corner Of Eyes?

I am having problems with my vision, I have beginning cataracts but not anywhere near ready for surgery according to my doctor. I am seeing little flashes of light in the corner of my eyes on the outside corner and I was wondering what the symptoms were for detached retina are?

Hello
Welcome to health care magic.

I reviewed your history.
The symptom of flashes of light usually indicate problems of the posterior segment of the eye involving retina or vitreous. All cases require retinal examination to rule out retinal problems like retinal tear or retinal thinning.
Hence I advice you to consult your doctor for examination of retina to rule out these by indirect ophthalmoscopy.

Thank you
