What Causes Flashing White Lights In The Corner Of The Eye?

Hi, several days ago I experienced flashing white lights in the corner of my left eye. Also some flashes of white lights in front of me. Today my daughter told me I have what appears to be a broken blood vessel in the left corner. Should I take any precautions?

Hello
It seems from the history that you are having flashes of light in the corner of the eyes.
Flashes of light is a symptom of vitreo retinal traction and requires further evaluation. The common causes are peripheral retinal thinning, retinal tears, age related detachment of the vitreous. The broken blood vessel is not related to these symptoms.
You need to consult your ophthalmologist for further evaluation and treatment accordingly.

Thank you
