What Causes Flatulence Even After Taking Gas-X And Drinking Lots Of Water?

I have had a common cold for about 4 days. Coughing and some nose discharge. I am not eating much but I am having a lot of gas. I have taken gas x to releave it. But it continues to come back. I try to drink plenty of water. Tea also what is causing the gas?
