What Causes Floaters In Eye While Wearing Contact Lens?
For 2-3 years now I have noticed a blue halo around the moon and now when driving at night with oncoming traffic. I have worn contact lenses for 54 years.....otherwise, my vision is not impaired. I have been taking extra Vit D3 and Vit A but have seen no decrease in these halos....there is no clouding just these perfectly blue halos around the moon, etc.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
Contact lenses sit on cornea to improve vision of eye. They can not cause floaters. Floaters acreage wise degenerative changes in vitreous in eye which gets emulsified to form floating dots or threads in vitreous. It gets to form floating in images in our vision field.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
