What Causes Fluctuate BP?

Hi Dr :) I have recently purchased health insurance, and was getting a blood pressure test done for complaince paperwork. The first place I went, Walmart, I took it, and it showed 177/118, so I took it again, and it said 202/150, but I thought that could not possibly be right, so I went to another pharmacy, and took it, and it stated 188/150. I m pretty sure I d be dead if that were correct. I am not feeling ill, should I just assume both of them were incorrect, or should I finalize my will ?

In the beginning itself I want to assure you that Blood pressure is a variable thing. It differs according to the Physical activity, Mental stress, Excitation etc which you were having at the time of measurement.

For the accurate measurement you need to be calm, sitting comfortably with your arm at heart level.

From your measurements I think you are suffering from hypertension. I would like to know more details like Age, Sex, Diabetic Status, Lifestyle, Lipid Profile etc to comment about the steps you need to take.
