What Causes Fluctuating And Persistent Fever?

I ve had a fluctuating 101.6 fever for the past two and a half days. At night I ve been taking two motrin and in the early afternoon take another 2 motrin. The first day I stayed in bed for 18 hours, and thought that I sweat some of it out, but then it only came back. Is this something serious?

The symptoms given here may not be danger if this comes around within a couple of day, and this persistence then blood need to be examined, you have not mentioned your age and gender else I would advise you accordingly, take care.
