What Causes Fluctuating Blood Pressure After Taking Ovral?
i had been diagnosed with ovarian cyst in left ovary my earlier prescribe me with ovaral l for three months but due too same fluctuation in my bp my doc ask me to take meprate from my next period fist day i have done that but from last 12 days im having periods. she gave me pause 500mg v injection and if bleeding continues take tablet of pause 500 mg for 1 tablets 3 times and if it dosn t stop increase meprate from 30 mg to 40mg . although ovaral was very effective for my cyst problem . I m on right treatment or not thats my concern.
Ovral and other hormonal contraceptives can cause fluid retention, edema which can lead to raised blood pressure. Combined oral pills containing both estrogen and progesterone can commonly cause Hypertension. Hence, you have been prescribed Meprate which does not contain estrogen and causes less water retention.
I would suggest you to continue with the drug and monitor your blood pressure every other day. Alternatively, you may also have been hypertensive previously which has increased following hormonal pill use. In that case, you may require regular anti-hypertensive drugs.
