What Causes Fluctuating Blood Pressure Levels While On Metoprolol?

I am taking metoprolol 50 mg once a day and hydrochloride 2.5 mg once a day. For the last week my BP have been 206/90 and then it drop down to 160/80 my doctor said to start taking the metoprolol twice a day. Do you think I need to try another BP med?

Hi,

Your blood pressure is normal after medicine. Slight variation in blood pressure is common on the same day. Even intra observer variation is also there. So no need to worry. Its not fluctuating too much. Continue with your medicine and go for regular checking of blood pressure. Take treatment accordingly.
