What Causes Fluctuating Blood Pressures Between High To Low?

Erratic blood pressure that remain normal for a few days I.e. 120-135/75-60. Then suddenly without obvious reason switch to 175-160/ 65-55 for a few days or weeks. I have been experiencing some chest burning discomfort once a day usually when I first become active, but not again with activity. GP placed me on losartan 100mg but blood pressure started running about 130/50, which was causing dizziness. With his authorization I have reduced dosage to 50mg on a prn basis. For 10 years I have been taking a tyrosine kinase for CML. But this has not been associated with this type of reaction previously. Any ideas?

Hi welcome to hcm
I understand your query and concern.
Fluctuating blood pressure means uncontrolled hypertension is due to inadequate drug dosage.I advise you to monitor your blood pressure regularly for one week.Start taking Tab.Losartan 50 mg (one dose post breakfast and second dose post dinner) twice daily for 2 weeks and monitor your blood pressure after 2 weeks. Also get an ECG,2 D Echo, lipid profile immediately to rule out any pathology in the heart.Avoid smoking and alcohol. Also take fruits and vegetables regularly.Restrict your salt intake to Post your further queries if any,
Thank you.
