What Causes Fluctuating Body Temperatures In Children?
Hi there My one year old started with a 39C fever on Saturday. We ve managed to bring it down with medication and the little guy is doing ok, but tonight he actually feels cold to the touch - almost clammy? Our eldest (3yr old) had middle ear infection last week Monday. We got a preliminary antibiotic prescription from the peadiatrician incase our youngest also got the bug - so we ve started with Zithromax last night. But it doesn t seem to have made any difference. I can feel he has swollen glands in the neck (left) and constantly tugs at his ear - it just freaks me out that his hands/arms/legs/ feet feels cool to the touch. Please advise
HI Well come to HCM I really appreciate your concern as long as the fever is concern in pediatric age group this can be well managed with antipyretic but condition must not be treated with antibiotic with the diagnosis and for that it is highly advisable to have opinion from pediatrician, lymph node may be normal one unless it is being proved clinical that having some pathology or clinical finding support this, hope this information helps, take care.
