Hello, how are you. I am 55 years old female with normal blood pressure, but for the pass two days something is not right, my blood pressure is higher , 140/84, or 30 minutes later is 124/78, then goes up to 144/88. The only think what can be wrong with me now is that I have sinuses problm... Can you help? I am so scare that I will get stroke!
Hi Welcome to HCM. I understand your query and concern. The fluctuations in your blood pressure can be due to inadequate control through drugs. Its always advisable to maintain the blood pressure under 130/80 mm of hg of pressure. This can be attained through restriction of salt intake to less than 6 g/day.Adequate control through antihypertensive drugs is needed in your case via beta blockers or ace inhibitors.Regular physical exercise like brisk walk for 20 min a day for 5 days a week will help to control the blood pressure.Adequate stress management is vital in your case.As of now you need not get scared to get stroke. If you can maintain your vital parameters within your normal limits ,its very unlikely to get stroke.Have a semiannual check up in the form of 2 dimensional echo and ecg and lipid profile.Consult your cardiologist for further expert help.Post your further queries if any. Thank you
