What Causes Fluctuation In Sugar Levels Along With Profuse Sweating?

My husband is diabetic and I was diagnosed with MS in July of 2015. Recently, my sugar has dropped into the low 40s several times. I shake, sweat profusely, and am extremely hungry. My husband has tested sugar levels with his monitor. Could I be diabetic also?

Hi

Glucose monitors used at home checks the blood sugar level in your capillary blood which may only be an approximate value that can be used in emergencies.

You have mentioned sugar values of 40 which means hypoglycemia. It can be dangerous leading to unconsciousness or convulsions and must be treated immediately.

I would suggest you to take venous blood sample at a lab and check both your fasting and post prandial (one and a half hours after food) sugar levels for a definitive diagnosis.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
