What Causes Fluid Behind The Knees?

Had ultrasound today for blood clot in left leg, no clots but technician said I had good bit of fluid behind my knee. Already need knee surgery because my knees are bone on bone. Get knee injections every 3 months. What causes the fluid behind knee. Injections time again next week. Should I be concerned about the fluid?

Hello,

Fluid in the joint or behind the joint may be due to effusion or arthritis.

Taking too much of injections are not good for health.

Use antibiotics and send the joint fluid for analysis.

Provide complete history and your scan report. Please consult your orthopedician he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
