What Causes Fluid Coming Out From Breast?

Hi, I m 38 years old and have a problem. My right breast felt really full (I am not pregnant or on any meds) so I squeezed it and a thick black maple syrup like substance came out. Now it has been leaking on it s own. What could this be? Thanks..I m scared!

Hi,

My opinion would be do not get scared without any diagnosis. Please go for an ultrasound of breast and serum Prolactin levels. There can be many reasons for your symptoms. I can guide you further based on the reports of these tests. Do you have fever or any pain in the breast? I also wants to know if you have any history of injury to breast?

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Sara Talha, OB & GYN Specialist
