Hello,

You seem to have an ear infection along with throat infection. Both are related through eustachian tube. So the infection control must be achieved at both the sites.

For acute pharyngitis, tab. Amoxicillin and potassium clavulanate to be taken thrice daily for 5 days. Warm water gargles help soothing the throat. The same antibiotics would work for ear infection too. If pain is severe and fever present, tab. Acetaminophen is to be taken every 6th hour. if your infection doesn't subside with the above antibiotic, you need to have a higher one.

Please do consult an ENT specialist for detailed clinical examination and necessary tests if any and appropriate treatment. Ear infection shouldn't be neglected as there are more chances of hearing loss. Please act as soon as possible.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Pallavi M., Anesthesiologist
