What Causes Fluid Filled Blisters At Incision Site Of Hip Revision Surgery?
I had hip revision surgery last April 2014. The incision drained for a while and then finally closed in June 2014. My surgeon said that the bone graft that he uses for the revision sometimes causes more drainage than usual. So when the incision finally closed always good. Last month I developed a blister on the incision site and it opened up my surgeon said that the bone graft that he uses for the revision sometimes causes more drainage than usual. So when the incision finally closed always good. Last month I developed a blister on the incision and began to drain clear his but there are white bits that are coming out. They are almost like the fat in a steak. They are somewhat hard. What are they. I have pictures.
The blister can be due to the following things at the base of it: - Suture that has not dissolved - Dead fat tissue ball - Any foreign body - The rejected part of bone graft - Sinus formation This can be diagnosed by the following ways: - Consult your operating surgeon for clinical evaluation, examination - Sterile dressings - X-ray or CT scan - If a sinus is suspected then sinogram - Further treatment as per the cause found till cured well
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
