What Causes Fluid Retention In The Feet When Suffering From COPD?

My aunt has COPD. She has had pneumonia several times, but this time she is retaining fluid in her feet and lacix isn t getting rid of it, even though the Dr doubled her does. He did say her protein was low. Is it normal for it to take so long to get rid of the fluid.NEVER MIND!

Hello,

It may be pedal edema.

For further assessment you may require blood investigation complete hemogram, LFT, Doppler studies after physician consultation.

Keep your leg elevated.

Further treatment mainly depends upon the underlying condition.

Restrict water intake.
