What Causes Flushing Feeling In Feet Radiating Towards Buttocks Or Waist?

Suddenly I will get a feeling in my feet that the only way I can describe is a flushing. It will go up my legs to either my butt cheeks or up to my waist. As this happens, I have no strength and have to sit down quickly or hold on to something. It is extremely uncomfortable. It may happen once a day or could happen 3 or 5 times. I am 72 years old.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Your problem can be due to a slip lumbosacral disc. It can give such symptoms. A physical examination by orthopedician and X-ray will be helpful to rule out this. I would suggest NSAIDS like Etoricoxib, muscle relaxants like Thiocolchicoside and neurotropic drugs like Gabapentin. Once the acute symptoms are subsided you can go for physiotherapy like TENS also.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nishad B. N., General & Family Physician
