What Causes Fluttering Feeling In The Lower Abdomen?
Am 55 years, post-menopausal female -- uterus, ovaries, tubes removed 4 years ago. I have a fluttering feeling in my lower right abdomen -- around where my ovary used to be. Not painful, just annoying. Occurs on the count of 4. Not tied to breathing. Standing, sitting and laying down do not change the flutter.
Hi dear, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Fluttering feeling in the lower abdomen after the removal of genital structures is most likely due to the intestinal movements. Sometimes, the movements and the peristalsis of the intestines are excessive leading gurgling sound and fluttering feeling in the lower abdomen. You can get an ultrasound done to rule out any other pathology. Hope you found the answer helpful. Regards Dr Deepti Verma OBGYN
