Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Fluttery heartbeat began around 1:00 pm this afternoon. Had mexican food for lunch. Have been on motrin for several weeks due to bad fall and also tramadol. Could this be serious? I took a pepcid to help with indigestion. but the flutering is still continuing.
You should go to the ER as you may have atrial fibrillation. It is not acutely serious, but if you are treated within 48 hours after symptom onset, you could get cardioverted directly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Anders Mark Christensen, General Surgeon
