What Causes Fluttering In Chest And Metallic Taste In The Mouth

Have been getting strong fluttering in my chest like my heart is about to explode. At the same time I get really short of breath an light headed an have also developed a metallic taste in my mouth an what feels like pins and needles in my mouth. Should I be concerned?

I can understand your situation and problem.
In my opinion, we should rule out arrhythmia first in your case.
Because arrhythmia can cause irregular, rapid heart rate. And this can be perceived as fluttering feeling in chest.
So get done
1. ECG
2. 2 d echo
3. Holter monitoring (24 hours recording of ECG)
If all the above are normal then no need to worry for arrhythmia.
Anxiety can be the cause. Your metallic taste and needle like feeling in the mouth can also seen in anxiety.
So better to avoid stress and tension. Be relax and calm.
Consult psychiatrist and get done counselling sessions. Try to identify stressor in your life and start working on its solution.
Don't worry much, you will be alright.
