What Causes Fluttering In My Chest Followed By Light Headedness?

Hi, my name is Melissa. I am a 22 year old female, and every so often I get a strange flutter feeling in my chest/heart. It happens very randomly, some time a couple times a day for a few days, and some times it will go weeks, or months before it happens again. When it happens it only last a few second, and after I feel a little light headed and week, but it only last for a minute or two. I have had it for a few years now, and never caused any other problems, so I am not to concerned about it, but I was just curious of what be it be.

Thanks for your question on HCM.
I think you are having rapid heart rate (tachycardia) which gives you feeling of palpitations and you perceive this as fluttering.
So we need to rule out arrhythmia in your case.
So get done
1. ECG
2. 2D Echo.
3. Holter monitoring (continuous recording of ECG)
If all of the above are normal than no need to worry much for cardiac cause.
Get done CBC ( Complete Blood Count ) and thyroid levels as anemia and hyperthyroidism can also cause similar symptoms.
If these are also normal, than you are mostly having anxiety.
So avoid stress and tension.
Be relax and calm.
