What Causes Fluttering Sensation In The Chest And Anxiety Disorder?

Hi dr., I have bad anxiety, a few days ago I had an EKG because I thought something was up with my heart. They took a look and it was ok. Today I m a little anxious and I ve been having life a fluttering in my chest and some pain on the left side of my chest, off and on for just a half second. I m not sure if it s muscle pain or something more serious. Any information would be helpful.

fluttering sensation in the chest can be due to
-tachycardia secondary to anxiety or heart ailments
-gastritis

you need to visit a physician or a cardiologist to rule out any organic disease and a psychiatrist who can give you treatment regarding anxiety disorder

I consider prescribing antidepressants ,beta blockers and if needed selective serotonin reputake inhibitors to my patients

you can disscuss these modalities with your physician to guide you with the best treatment
