What Causes Fluttery Sensations In Esophagus Post Food Intake?
It seems like in the last couple weeks I ve had fluttery sensations possibly in my esophagus (feels like I ve had too much caffeine---but I haven t!). I ve been trying to ignore it but it just doesn t seem to be going away. Now it seems like it happens after meals---is this something to be concerned about or can I continue to ignore it.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have fluttery sensations in esophagus post food intake. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like acid reflux . I would suggest you to consult gastroenterologist for proper examination . Doctor may order endoscopy or esophagus , X-ray of upper digestive tract and ambulatory acidity test to confirm the diagnosis . Doctor may prescribe proton pump inhibitor , H2 blockers along with drug like sucralfate for healing . For now eat light and non spicy specially at night , take light walk after every meal , take antacid after every meal . and eat at least one hour before going to bed . Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
