What Causes Foaming From Mouth While Having A History Of Undiagnosed Seizures?
I ve just checked my 2 year old son while his asleep as he has been unwell and noticed he has more than a little foam around his mouth and on his pillow, he has a history of sezisures (undiagnosed). Should I be worried ? also he snores a lot if that if that will make a difference James
Understanding your concern. As per your query your 2 year old son has a problem of foaming from mouth and he is having a history of undiagnosed seizures is because of the fact that due to the rhythmic contraction of the respiratory muscles the saliva gets mixed with the air giving rise to foam from mouth. It is possible that you son suffered from lack of oxygen or hypotonia due to which this occurs. I would suggest you to continue regular anticonvulsants for prolonged duration. Naproxen is best if child has headaches. Visit neurologist once and is necessary to get a EEG done. An MRI of the brain is also required for proper diagnosis and start treatment accordingly.
Hope your concern has been resolved. Get Well Soon. Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
