What Causes Focal Epilepsy?

My husband is having what a neurologist has said it is focal epilepsy. He has been on keppr, which made them worse. He is now on 1200mg of trileptil per day. and is still having seizures every day. I need to know what to expect from here on out. He is so depressed that he is not interested in going places that he used to enjoy finishing a project he was excited about. The seizures started over a year ago on a xross country trip, but had no diagnosis until March of this year. s

Hi,

If the diagnosis of focal seizures has been made, he is on the correct treatment. Was any brain scan done or any EEG to rule out other disorders?

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Harshita, Ophthalmologist
