What Causes Foot Discoloration While Treating Cellulitis?

I have been diagnosed with cellulitis on my left foot and have been prescribed 2 antibiotics by mouth and 1 by ointment plus pain medication and have been taking this for 2 1/2 days. I am noticing my foot is discoloring and turning black and blue in all the places where there is open sores. Could this be a side effect or should I go back to the Emergency Room.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
welcome to hcm,
I really appreciate your concern,
Get evaluated by a surgeon.
I would advise you to drink plenty of fluids to avoid dehydration. You must keep your leg raised using pillows or a chair. Maintain hand hygiene by washing with chlorhexidine washing. Take the medicine regularly. You can take pain killers to relieve pain. If you see necrosis and change in skin color then I would suggest you to get it evaluated by the surgeon.
Please let me know if you have any further questions.
Thanks. regards.
