What Causes Foot Pain After A Total Knee Replacement Surgery?

I am 3 months out of having a total knee replacement and the podiatrist told me today that my foot pain is due to a fallen arch. he said this frequently happens. It did not happen to my other knee four years ago. Any suggestions other than building up the arch in my orthotics?

Hello,

As you have undergone the TKR post which the TKR rehabilitation is a must for making the muscles stable. If you are facing issues with foot flat issues using a medial arch for the foot wear can help in correction.

Doing reverse walking, toe walking, will help improve the muscles to become active and may give some help to arch it you are not having a flat foot issue as a birth deformity.

Also doing balance board training will improve the ankle stability and muscle activation.

Please take help from a physiotherapist to help with balance board training.

In my clinical practice of over 12 years, most TKR cases are sent for Knee replacement rehabilitation program and they respond well with it.

Any abnormalities faced in between is noted before and during the rehabilitation program so a correction can be done timely.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
