What Causes Foot Pain After Walking?

My foot aches after working for a long time or after a brisk walk. I was told I am flat footed and hence wear an insole with an arch in my shoes. The urge to massage the arch/heel is very overpowering. I am RA positive and hence can't massage on my own and become a nuisance for family members.. Pl help.
