Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, I had a concern about Fordyce spots on the shaft of my penis. I m too nervous to go to my doctor an ask. So, I know they aren t contagious but it s been 2 years since I ve had sex, me and my girlfriend had sex for our first time yesterday and I ve looked at them and my question is, does sex make them fade a little? I ve noticed they went down a little cause I ve been concerned for a while and I ve kept an eye on them. Answer as soon as possible, thank you.
Fordyce spots are usually not sexually transmitted diseases. These bumps may make people self-conscious or may even cause worry but are actually harmless.
Sometimes they occur due to hormonal changes & so tend to go away on their own with time. Its good to know that they went down. But go for protected sex & avoid multiple partners.
If the bumps get itchy or painful, get physically examined by a doctor without much delay. There is nothing to feel nervous or shy about.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Nupur K, General & Family Physician
